Student of the Month

June 2008

Katherine Irwin

Katherine has been dancing at Paper Moon for two and a half years, but she has had so many breakthroughs in the past few months that she just had to be June’s Student of the Month.  Katherine is a friendly, familiar face to all who enter Paper Moon – she’s at the studio almost every day of the week, taking private lessons, group classes, and attending social dances.  She excels at both Rhythm and Smooth dancing – she recently took home the trophy for Foxtrot Madness winner this past April, after 22 months straight of intensive training!  Katherine had long sworn off of competing, until recently when she jokingly said to her instructor Ray Huard, “I’d compete in standard.”  Little did she know that he would call her bluff and learn Standard so they could dance together!  True to her word, she will make her debut on the competition dance floor at the Yankee Classic in Cambridge this weekend!  Best of luck Katherine, we’re all cheering for you!
