March 2008 Melanie Meier During the day Melanie Meier is an assistant librarian at Reeds Ferry School in Merrimack; but she moonlights as a Dancer Extraordinaire! She is the mother of 3 wonderful sons, the oldest of whom (the famous Jake Meier) takes after both of his parents and is a talented dancer in his own right. Mel is at Paper Moon several times a week, taking private lessons, group classes, and attending Saturday socials. She is proficient in just about every dance we teach, yet continues to work hard to constantly improve her technique and styling. She is a triple-threat who has danced competitively, socially, and in performance. She recently received the trophy and plaque as Foxtrot Madness winner for Most Improved Student. She is currently organizing Mother-Son and Father-Daughter dances at Paper Moon, both to help raise money for the local schools and to introduce the joys of dancing to a wider audience of diverse ages. She is well-loved by adults and children alike, because she is a wonderful listener, cheerleader, and friend to all she meets. She is an especially critical member of the Paper Moon family, as twice a week she can be found caring for Dara and Phaedra Brown so their mom can be at the studio! Mel, we love you and are proud to honor you as March 2008’s Student of the Month! |
