1st Year
Anniversary - About 80 of us
enjoyed a wonderful evening of food, fellowship, and dance last Saturday
evening. The event began with 3 excellent workshops by Russell Monk (Foxtrot,
Cha-cha, and Salsa) followed by a 3-hour dinner dance. Special entertainment was
provided by Holly Johnson and Andrew George who did a Bolero and an EC Swing,
Brian Barakauskas with an amazing solo dance, and Maria and Brian who danced
their 5 Rhythm competition pieces. Pictures and videos will be posted on the
website soon. If anyone has any good pictures from the evening, please feel free
to share them with us.
Yankee Classic: Results are in! -- We are very proud
of Patricia Ballard, Mike Bonacorsi, Emily Canavan, Andrew George, Flavia Grey,
Holly Johnson, Karen Keating, Ben Paquin, Nancy Paquin, Leticia Quiles, Mark
Tuson, and Michael von Dadelszen; all of whom competed at the Yankee Classic in
Cambridge on Thursday and Friday. All danced well and, most
importantly, all benefited from the preparation, the cameraderie, and the
experience of participating in this enjoyable event. For pictures, videos, and
detailed results, visit the Yankee Classic Event page on the Paper Moon website.
Maria and Brian: Rising Star
Finalists! -- Brian and Maria competed together as a pro couple for the
first time last night at Yankee Classic, ending with 6th place position in the
American Rhythm (Cha-cha, Rumba, EC Swing, Bolero, Mambo) category! Tonight they
take the floor again in the Open Division. We're all very proud of you, Maria
and Brian! Watch the website for upcoming videos of the
event.
